Civic Engagement - Get Involved!

PUMP encourages a new generation of leaders to become involved in the civic and political process. We organize forums, exchange information, tackle important issues and collaborate with community leaders to make a meaningful impact. The civic decision making process in our community is greatly enhanced through the involvement of Pittsburgh's young professionals. PUMP's Civic Engagement program area includes:

Volunteer and civic opportunities
Voter registration
Debates and forums with elected officials and candidates for office
Roundtable discussions on policy issues and matters important to Pittsburgh and the region
General advocacy on behalf of PUMP's constituents
Legislative advocacy and constituent organizing when needed to address local and regional issues (e.g. tuition tax, public transportation, smoking ban, city-county consolidation, etc.
